Red Tie Affair 2010 -- to benefit the American Red Cross

The Red Cross Annual Red Tie Affair gala on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the luxurious Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica will honor the humanitarian spirit of extraordinary individuals who have shown courage and unselfish character.

This year the Red Cross will be honoring Actress and Executive Producer Jada Pinkett Smith as the 2010 recipient of the National American Red Cross “Crystal Cross” award, for her outstanding contributions to humanitarian efforts and her support of the American Red Cross. Throughout her career, she has been an inspiration to many people, a great mother, successful businesswoman and Red Cross advocate.

The ‘Red Cross Spirit Award’ will be presented to the cast and crew of the hit TV series, ‘HawthoRNe’ The critically acclaimed show educates and motivates thousands of viewers with their portrayal of the daring struggle to preserve life. The Red Cross has chosen “HawthoRNe” because it reflects their mission to help people and save lives, and recognizes the heroic nursing profession, which are the roots of the American Red Cross.

The evening will include a gourmet dinner designed by celebrity chef Nick Stellano, a private VIP reception serving ONEHOPE wine, a Casino, live music, and an auction featuring exciting and unique items.

Guests are asked to wear an element of red in their attire.  Wearing red signifies support for the American Red Cross and for the thousands of individuals helped by the local Red Cross every day.
