April is National Autism Awareness month, and we want to help the cause. It’s been nearly 25 years since the Autism Society launched national Autism Awareness Day, held on Aril 2nd, with the goal of increasing awareness, action, acceptance, inclusion, and appreciation.
On a larger scale, people celebrate the event with Congressional and Presidential declarations, local events and activities, as well as awareness campaigns online and across social media outlets. You can learn more about Autism Awareness Month, including a list of local events and resources, by visiting the Autism Society’s website, here.
On a more micro level, you can support the cause by purchasing a ONEHOPE product that gives back to research.
The Cause: ABA Therapy
Applied Behavioral Analysis, ABA for short, is a therapy has been a breakthrough for those living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Research shows that timely intervention can lead to an 80-90% chance of significant improvement in children diagnosed with ASD.
The treatment works by applying the concepts of learning to identify and change behaviors of social significance. Therapists work with patients to first identify behaviors, and then replace them with ones that are more socially standard.
For every 10 cases of qualifying wine that we sell, we can fund ABA therapy for 1 child.
Our Cookies and Cabernet box is a perfect way to give a great gift at an incredible price while helping to support children. Priced under $50, Cookies and Cab includes a bottle of California Cabernet Sauvignon, caramelized grahams in dark chocolate, and espresso shortbread cookies dipped in pure, dark chocolate.
Perhaps the most economical way to support the cause, these single bottles are well priced and promise a full wine flavor. It’s a bottle that you can feel great about uncorking!
Mixed packs give you the option to support a variety of causes and experience more than one wine. Buying a mixed set means that you get an incredible value on wines that we partner to create a balanced wine experience. The following wine sets support Autism Therapy.
Children living with ASD are still children. As such, they may benefit from causes not directly related to ABA therapy. We’re proud to have a wide selection of wines supporting children’s causes, and you can browse our full line of wines supporting children, here.
