Community Impact: Autism Awareness

onehope wine autism awareness monthHelp us make a difference this month by supporting autism awareness! We are Chris and Connie Borkowski, Impact Directors with ONEHOPE, that started this journey together in December of 2020. As parents of five children, one of which is nonverbal with severe special needs including autism and other rare genetic disorders, we definitely know the struggles that other families face in caring for a loved one with autism.

Our son, Cameron requires 24/7 care, is self-injurious, and requires assistance with daily activities. He has sensory issues and needs as much of a rigid schedule as possible. Any deviation can cause tantrums or a complete meltdown that not only ruins his day, but everyone around him. We are currently having to renovate our entire home because of the destructive force of one of his meltdowns. It is very isolating for a family with a child with severe special needs, but having a sense of community and a way to give back has been a huge help thanks to ONEHOPE!

Since joining ONEHOPE as Cause Entrepreneurs, we have raised over $550 for Autism Cares, been promoted to Impact Directors, and are so grateful to be part of an amazing company that donates 10% of all sales to nonprofit organizations around the world! The ONEHOPE community has been like a family to us, which really makes a difference in our lives. Since April is National Autism Awareness Month, we challenge you to help us raise funds for nonprofits that provide care and research for children with autism and other disabilities.

We hope you will join us and drink for a cause while raising funds to support kids like Cameron who have autism! Please help us make a difference while enjoying delicious award-winning Napa Valley wine!

cause entrepreneur onehope autism awarenessMy name is Allison Richards and I am a Senior Cause Entrepreneur with ONEHOPE. I have been part of this incredible community since March of 2017. I have been able to give thousands of dollars to many non profits that I am passionate about, and before I joined, I never thought that would be possible.

My biggest “why” are my boys, and supporting causes that support research into the puzzle that is Autism.

My son Shane is now 13, and was diagnosed at the age of three with what they called “moderate to severe Autism.” The diagnosis has NEVER defined Shane. He has come SO FAR as a result of what Autism Cares Today, the school system he is in, and what other nonprofit organization grants have provided him. He was student of the month in January 2020. He is a fierce competitor. He will do ANYTHING he puts his mind to.

Help Fund Scholarships for Children with Autism

All month long we’re raising funds for the Organization for Autism Research, a nonprofit dedicated to making tangible improvements in the day-to-day lives of individuals with autism. To date, ONEHOPE has proudly donated over $35,000 to this meaningful cause, and with your help we can make an even greater impact. Host an event or visit our fundraiser, where 10% of every purchase goes back to the Organization for Autism Research.

Cheers,

The ONEHOPE Wine Team
