DIY Bride and Groom Wine Bottles

bride-and-groom-DIY_500x591

Wedding season is in full swing and this DIY is super easy and fun. I plan on giving these decorated bride and groom wine bottles as gifts, but they can be used as centerpieces or even wedding decorations. I’ve seen so many bride and groom wine bottles with sewn jackets and dresses that it looks intimidating to replicate. For this project, all you need is a glue gun, scissors, ribbon and tulle!

Supplies

ONEHOPE Sauvignon Blanc (Bride)
ONEHOPE Merlot (Groom)
Black and white hard felt
White ribbon
Black ribbon
Fishing wire (thread works too)
Glue gun
Scissors
Ruler
Sharpie
Tulle

Depending on the size of your bottle, cut a rectangle for the groom’s jacket. I cut mine 5.5 inches by 3.5 inches. I then cut a triangle from the white felt to be used as the shirt, and two black strips from the ribbon to be used as lapels. You can use felt for the lapels, but I wanted there to be a contrast. Glue the white triangle and then the lapels onto the jacket.

I added buttons by drawing circles on the white felt with a sharpie and cutting a circle from the black ribbon and gluing it to the jacket. To give the groom a waist and shoulders, slightly curve the rectangle on each side so he isn’t boxy and cut diagonally from the white triangle down for his shoulders. Using the rest of the black ribbon, tie a bow tie onto the neck of the bottle.

Make sure it sits at the bottom of the neck so that it will be right above the jacket.  Glue the jacket and press down to ensure it stays.  I didn’t plan on using the mustache, but found one at home and figured it would be perfect for my groom.
