The latter just so happened to be the case for Diana, one of our incredible Cause Entrepreneurs who is setting impressive goals for herself, and making an even more impressive impact on the world around her. 1. How did you first learn about ONEHOPE?
1. How did you first learn about ONEHOPE?I was browsing for gift ideas for my son’s Nursery School teacher and saw a post on my local Facebook mom group about “wine that donates to charity.” I thought to myself, “what a great gift idea!” and immediately went onto the ONEHOPE website to find out more. I was blown away by the impact this company was making and LOVED the idea of being able to have a wine tasting event to raise funds for a cause of my choice. I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of this movement and fundraise for the American Heart Association in memory of my brother Robert Federico. My plan was to give my mom this donation check as a Christmas present! Although at the time, I was a busy stay at home mom with 3 kids under 3 years of age, I decided to give this business a try and I jumped on board right away!! Makes my heart full knowing I was able to start my business by giving back to a cause that means so much to me and my family.
2. How long have you been a Cause Entrepreneur?
It will be 2 years on December 4th!
3. What goals have you set for yourself this year?
I love to set goals so I’ve had a few throughout the year. A major goal of mine was to earn Director for a full year straight and I am so proud to have accomplished that! Another goal I had was to earn my seat at the Crush Leadership Retreat, which ended up being an incredible experience! My other goals include: Earning a seat on the beach in Costa Rica, increasing my overall local impact compared to last year and doubling the size of my team Grape Expectations (the bigger we are the more impact we can make together!) Another personal goal I have is to continue to successfully run my business while being able to stay home with my 3 kids and watch them grow up! I don’t want to miss a minute and I am so thankful ONEHOPE allows me the flexibility to do exactly that!
4. What was your favorite memory from CRUSH this year?
Visiting the ONEHOPE estate during the Crush Leadership Retreat! It was always a dream of mine to travel to Napa!!!! Being able to meet Michael Mondavi, experience the high-level leadership training, and tour the ONEHOPE property are moments I will never forget! Extremely grateful for that experience!
5. Do you need to have sales experience to become a Cause Entrepreneur?
No way! One of the main reasons why I LOVE this business is the wine sells itself! I never feel like I am “selling” anything – I see it more as I am sharing our impact with others and inviting them to join us on the mission to make the world a better place. Plus the wine is so DELICIOUS everyone falls in love the minute they taste it!
6. What makes ONEHOPE special?
Our ability to take an everyday purchase, like wine, and transform that purchase into something more! It is so amazing to be able to purchase wine you enjoy and know you are funding a clinical trial day for a woman with breast cancer, helping a shelter animal find their forever home, or even helping end childhood hunger by providing meals to a child in need! I love that we offer a unique experience where you can fundraise locally by inviting your friends and family into your home and have a ONEHOPE Wine tasting right in your living room! How fun is that?! So much giveback to be made and together we can truly change the world one bottle at a time!
7. If you could provide one piece of advice for new Cause Entrepreneurs, what would it be?
You don’t have to know everything to get started – just jump right in and share your passion for ONEHOPE with everyone you know!!! I promise you will learn what you need to know along the way!!!! I didn’t know what I was doing when I first started – I don’t think most of us did! I just jumped right in, used the major cheat sheet on the back of the bottle, and had fun!!! The sooner you get started the more impact you can make!!! Also make sure to take advantage of your fast start – it will help you launch a very successful balanced business and earn you some amazing cash bonuses!
8. What’s your favorite varietal right now and why?
This is a hard one because I truly LOVE so many of our varietals. I would say right now I am in love with the Vintner Merlot! Not only does it taste DELICIOUS, but every bottle goes towards helping to prevent heart disease which is a cause very close to my heart. I also love the Australia Langhorne Creek Reserve Shiraz, Sonoma Rosé and the Napa Merlot! They are all AMAZING! Sorry, it is so hard to choose just one 🙂
9. What does a typical day in the life of a Cause Entrepreneur look like?
Biggest perk of the business is that this is YOUR business, your hours, around your schedule and all YOUR way! You can fit this business into any schedule and I LOVE the flexibility. I am a busy mom of 3, so I revolve this business around my family schedule. I listen to training calls while in the car during pick-up and drop-off, I schedule coaching calls with my team at night when my kids are in bed, and I schedule most tastings in the evening and on the weekend when my husband is home with the kids. Every day is different for me depending on what activities my kids have going on but I do share the ONEHOPE mission everywhere I go! Just yesterday I booked a wine tasting with a mom I was chatting with at the playground! Oh and I can’t forget that my favorite part of the day has to be when I get to open a bottle of wine and enjoy 🙂 Best perk of the job!
10. Do you feel like you’ve made an impact since joining the ONEHOPE community?
INCREDIBLE impact! I have been able to donate over $6k to local nonprofits through fundraising events since I started with ONEHOPE! That is simply AMAZING! It is the best feeling going into the weekend knowing I am about to meet several groups of people who love wine and that together we are going to make an impact!
