Support Children with Autism through OAR

Last year we funded two $5,000 scholarships through the Organization for Autism Research for students across the autism spectrum pursuing full-time, post-secondary, undergraduate education, or vocational-technical training. This year in honor of Autism Awareness Month, we’re donating $25,000 to this amazing nonprofit, and with your help we can make an even greater impact. Our goal is to raise $5,000 through our ONEHOPE Foundation Fundraiser, to provide an additional scholarship for a student in need.

Meet Our Past Grant Recipients

Alex, our first recipient, is going to attend a college in Union Grove, IL, that provides a unique program that will teach him culinary and technology skills.

“I like to help others. I know sign language and I talked to a friend at camp who was deaf. It’s important to me to have kind people around me, to work hard, and to do my best to make the world a better place.”

Samantha, our second recipient, said “My mom is a single mother, and a teacher who is struggling with financials. This scholarship means everything to me, as I now feel like I am able to support myself in school without my moms help.”

An exceptionally bright and very young scholar, Samantha graduated high school at just 16-years-old, and entered college with enough credits to start as a Junior.

She is a pre-med major at a college in St. Louis, MO, and hopes to be a neurosurgeon and neurologist. “My end goal is to be able to critically analyze the neurological proponents of Autism from a research aspect, and to be able to consult.”

Active for Autism Virtual 5k & Kids Dash

In addition to funding scholarships this month, ONEHOPE is proud to be the Platinum Sponsor for this year’s Active for Autism Virtual 5k & Kids Dash. We invite you to join our team here and run, walk, bike, or swim between April 1 – April 11th at your own pace to support OAR. All proceeds from the Active for Autism Virtual 5K will go to OAR’s new Changing Lives Fund and will be used solely for direct research and programs support.
