Beef and Pork Chili + Merlot

We couldn’t decide between a white chili and a red chili for our Super Bowl party so #winenot have both? Adapted from this recipe, we whipped up a version with fresh pork sausage (a family tradition). We loved every bit and our team was excited that the large batch meant leftovers for lunch the following day. Pair this with our Merlot for well rounded complementary flavors. Enjoy!

Beef and Pork Chili + Merlot

Ingredients

1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 lb. fresh pork sausage
1½ cups beef broth
1 tbsp. chili powder
1½ tsp. ground cumin
¾ tsp. dried oregano
½ tsp. salt
⅛ tsp. pepper
3 garlic cloves, crushed
2 cans black beans, drained
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef and pork sausage in a skillet.
  2. In large pot, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Bring your heat down to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Serve warm and garnish with cheese, sour cream, green onions, avocado, chips or whatever your heart desires!
