Our one hope is to bring together a community that makes the world a better place through memorable wine and experiences. So what are we doing to help make an impact on the world around us? At ONEHOPE, every purchase helps benefit one of our many cause partners. We work with over 25 nonprofits that each provide a different mission and vision to help make a difference. Room to Read has been a partner of ONEHOPE’s since 2016, but has been changing the lives of children around the globe since 2000.
About Room to Read
Did you know that 80% of students from low-income backgrounds score “below proficient” in reading at their grade level? This is one of the many statistics that inspired the foundation of Room to Read. Founded by John Wood, Erin Ganju, and Dinesh Shrestha, Room to Read believes that World Change Starts with Educated Children.® Their goal is to transform the lives of children in low-income countries by developing their literacy skills, helping form reading habits amongst primary school children, and supporting gender equality in education. Room to Read not only works to aid girls in completing secondary school, but also works to provide them with the life skills needed to succeed in their education and beyond.
Every year Room to Read invests in nearly one million children. Their goal is to help change the lives of at least 15 million children by the year 2020 and to date they’ve benefited 12.4 million children and their communities. Their aspirations give us hope that one day children around the world will be given equal opportunities to improve their reading skills and go further in their education than ever before.
