8 Holiday Movie & Wine Pairings

There’s nothing more festive than wine and holiday movies. From Love Actually to The Holiday, bubbles to red, check out these flicks and sips for your next cozy night-in.

Love Actually & Love Language Collection

To quote Love Actually with this pairing, “If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that love actually is all around.” Follow the lives and tales of eight different couples in this charming romantic comedy. And while you do so, sip on our $20 Love Language red, white, or rosé (or do a movie night tasting fundraiser with all three varietals for something extra fun and festive).

The Holiday & Italian Prosecco

There’s a scene in The Holiday when Kate Winslet and Jack Black’s characters are feeling a bit down and he says, “I’m making you some fettuccine. It is Christmas Eve, and we are going to sit out on that patio…gonna make ourselves a little fire, pop some bubbly…and we are gonna celebrate being young and being alive.” If that sounds like the perfect night to you—go for this pairing featuring our Italian Prosecco.

It’s a Wonderful Life & Rutherford Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

It’s a Wonderful Life is a 1946 film that conjures nostalgic visions of past Christmases—we have the ideal pairing for you. Uncork a classic 2015 vintage of our Rutherford Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, pop on this movie directed by Frank Capra, and toast to a wonderful life.

Miracle on 34th Street & Napa Valley Reserve Merlot

Though we’re fans of the 1994 remake, the original 1947 Miracle on 34th Street has our hearts, too. This old Christmas classic recounts the story of a department store Santa who, as it turns out, is the real deal. For another classic pairing, we love this film alongside the 2015 vintage of our Napa Valley Reserve Merlot.

Elf & California Dessert Wine

“We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup.” And for our crew at ONEHOPE, we like to add a fifth food group to that lineup…wine. If you’ve got a sweet tooth and a love for Christmas comedies, look no further than this perfect Elf-inspired pairing. Our California Dessert Wine might come in a smaller bottle—but like the elves themselves—it captures the sweetness of the season. Pair it with dark chocolate truffles for the ultimate treat.

Home Alone & Home Sweet Home

The hilarious Home Alone franchise is a family favorite near and far. If you have this one in your usual Christmas movie lineup, pair it with our Home Sweet Home shimmer bottle  for a thematically-fun evening at home. As Kevin says, “When I grow up and get married, I’m living alone.” So, if you find yourself home alone this holiday season, might as well treat yourself to a chilled glass of bubbles and a holiday film-favorite.

The Santa Clause & Minis

Starring Tim Allen, The Santa Clause is a 1994 film that has become a holiday staple in many households. As an ode to Santa’s workshop, the elves, and stocking stuffers, we like to pair this flick with our adorably-sized minis. What mini bottle do you think Barnard the Elf or Scott Calvin would reach for? Perhaps, the Cabernet Sauvignon, but in hot chocolate form (and if that sounds like your Christmas treat dream come true, make sure to check out our recipe for a decadent Red Wine Hot Chocolate).

It’s hard to decide which pairing is our favorite, so this year, we’ll just have to try them all! Which movie and wine pairing are you excited to indulge in this season? Let us know in the comments below!

And don’t forget, every purchase gives 10% back to your nonprofit of choice and helps make a difference in the world.

This year, let the gift be in the giving.

Happy Holidays!

The ONEHOPE Family
